Friday Musings
So it's Friday...yup. We went to a Kindermusik class this morning with our playgroup. It was pretty good. Colton seemed to enjoy himself, if not for the music than for the other kids. He doesn't get out all that much but I am hoping that will change as the weather warms up.
Tomorrow we're heading over to Sugarmomma's Maple Farm open house with Nana. Hoping to score some yummy things perhaps. After that Colton and I will be heading north to Madison to see my grandma and grandpa. I haven't seen them since...Christmas, maybe? Too long. So that's that. Rain Sunday, blah!
Oh we also signed Colton up for swimming lessons starting in April..now mommy needs a bathing suit. Yikes!
My giveaway ends tonight too!!

My 1st Review & Giveaway- Hushabye Baby Lullaby Gift Set
Before Colton was born, I knew I wanted to have some sort of music for him to listen to in order to calm down, go to sleep, sleep to, and even just have as background noise. I ended up with a couple of different cd's that were instrumental only, however they never were really used much do to them being bland.
Then I came across Hushabye Baby Lullabies and he has been hooked ever since. These are completely different from the norm. There are four different cds that I received, each are instrumental lullaby renditions of songs from well known country music stars. Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, George Strait and of course, Johnny Cash! In addition to these artists they also have Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill, Dolly Parton and Rascal Flatts.
We've listened to all of the cds and I would have to say Colton mostly enjoys George Strait. He has in fact been listening to it every night since we got them and it does help him get to sleep faster.
The Willie Nelson renditions include the songs 'Mamas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys' and 'On the Road Again'. Colton seems to especially like 'Night Life' with the warm pedal steel and 'boing' noise. My husband recognized the first song ('Mamas, Don't Let ...') from in the other room even!
The Patsy Cline cd is definitely more mellow. It seemed to have a nice calming effect on all of us. A couple of songs included are; 'Crazy', 'Always' and 'Sweet Dreams'.
The George Strait cd is very well done in my opinion as well as my skeptical husband. 'I Cross My Heart' is one song that stands out and is easy recognizable. My son enjoys all of these songs, as stated before. I am thinking of bringing this one in the car even!
Last but not least, Johnny Cash. This iconic singer is well known and Hushabye Baby does an awesome job of rendering the songs into instrumentals. ' Folsom Prison' was well done and quirky in a way. 'I Walk the Line' sadly could have been better it seems, but perhaps that is due to the fact that is a fast song mellowed for a lullabye. Either way, awesome and fun to listen to!
To make it all that much more pleasing, the packaging is super cute with individual animal characters with bios for each cd. Each case also includes a recipe inspired by the musician. And of course, the packaging is 100% recycled. A must for this green world we live in today!

Ho hum
Another snowy day. I think we got 10 inches last night. Yes, that's right, ten inches. Super fun...not. Got my haircut, I'll post a pic below. I always have short hair...I had it long once back in high school. It was such a hassle. Kudos to you girls with long hair. Oh, funny thing, my hubby prefers long hair. Why the hell did he marry me then? I think he was mistaken in his preferences.
Anyway, there is a really awesome etsy shop (HERE) I stumbled upon through an etsy team I'm in. I am so thinking of getting one to use as a small diaper bag. Right now I use the Eddie Bauer green and tan one, it's ginormous.
